Charming village location, Excellent value for money, Availability of local ales
There's a noticeable lack of heating, especially when turned off during the day!!! The parking situation leaves much to be desired during busy times, making access a hassle!!!

absolutely loved how 'cozy' the room was, although it took forever to heat up—25 hours is quite excessive! while I enjoyed the pub atmosphere, having to navigate a village for parking woudl ve been better handled by the staff. really expected a warm welcome gesture, but I guess that's too much to ask for.

The location is charming, nestled in a picturesque village, with easy access to the beautiful West Burton waterfall just a short walk away. The bar area has an inviting atmosphere with an open fire, and the pub serves a solid variety of local ales that add a nice touch to the experience.
Several rooms felt a bit too dated, and while they had a cozy cottage feel, the lack of heating was an issue for some guests, especially in chillier weather. The food quality had its ups and downs. dishes like the homemade lasagne were enjoyable, but there were complaints about poorly cooked meals and cold temperature food. The early closing times for dining options made planning a bit awkward, and parking can be tricky during busy times, which might be a hassle when trying to explore the area.

pleasant stay, but room lacked charm
The warm and cozy atmosphere really stood out during my stay. The friendly and helpful staff made me feel welcome right away. Dinner was a delight with an extensive food menu, and the homemade dishes were well-prepared and reasonably priced. The inviting bar area, complete with a charming open fire, made for a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.
The room felt a bit dated and lacked some modern charm, which was a slight letdown.

Spent two nights here, and I tell you, the atmosphere was spot on! The view from me room was lush, and brekkie was a proper feast. Just a shame me bed wasn’t a kingsize, but can't have it all, right?

The pub had a fantastic atmosphere with friendly staff, and a lovely menu featuring a great selection of ales (perfect for cold evenings! ). It was also conveniently located near scenic walks and charming attractions.
Room had low ceiling height, be careful! 😅
